The Absolute Sound issue 220 landed in the office today. Cover photography is by Steven Stone, who is also a frequent contributor and reviewer. This issue contains a humongous report from The Rocky Mountain Show – it was definitely one of those pieces that we had to stop and think about how we were going to make it look compelling while fitting in all that copy in such a small amount of space – you can see some pages from the report after the jump.
Also really happy with the feature well’s cover story. It’s clean, simple and effective, with some strong photography.
Above are a couple of pages from The Rocky Mountain Report. These are always a fun challenge to put together for the writers and the designer – each writer has to supply his own photography! We introduced a four column grid and a handwritten looking font to emphasis the ‘reporting’ aspect of this feature.
And finally, once again I love how some of the regular department pages turned out. Just simple, clean product photography and easy to read, accessible type.
