We traveled to Beaumont, Texas on Tuesday evening, for a photoshoot with Ray Callas, MD. Dr Callas will be installed as President of the Texas Medical Association in May, 2024. Dr Callas is - as you can imagine - extremely busy, so we decided to shoot him in his workplace, when he was able to clear his schedule. Also being photographed was Mark Kubala, MD. Dr Kubala is featured in the story we're taking these photos for, and is a mentor to Dr Callis (he was also President of the Texas Medical Association in the mid 90's). Phil Kline and I drove to Beaumont, stayed in a motel that can only be described as being full of character, and met the doctors the following morning. We took about 45 minutes to figure out our different setups and lighting, getting started before the doctors arrived so we didn't keep them waiting. Our options for shooting space were very limited, but we came up with three different setups that looked amazing.
