The box in the image above weighs 400lbs. It contains two solid marble bases for a pair of floor-standing loudspeakers we photographed in the studio last week. Between Shelley and I, we carried that single box into the studio, veins bulging, muscles tearing through clothes, grunting, and maybe with some help from one of the other tenants in the building. Here are a few behind the scenes from the shoot with Matt Wrightsteel. The speakers have now left the studio, and page layout/production on the issue of The Absolute Sound they'll appear in is underway. I love my job, but thank goodness the next shoot subject is a person, not products with a combined weight of 750lbs.
