Texas Medicine's January/February 2024 issue recently wrapped, and one of the more fun parts of production was photographing Dr Anna Vu-Wallace and Dr Brian Sayer for the cover and feature pages. Doctors are notoriously hard to coordinate (through no fault of their own), especially when you need to get more than one in the same place at the same time, so we felt very lucky when we found out that the doctor's already knew each other personally, making shoot production and timing much easier than anticipated.

We came up with the look and feel we wanted, and discussed with photographer Phil Kline a week in advance. Because we only had a three-hour window in which to shoot, we had hair and makeup (by Codie LePors) ready to go as soon as they arrived, and the set already built and lit. We came up with a shot list in advance so we could shoot one doctor while the other was prepping, then get shots of them together in the last hour.
