Here's a great, short piece (via The Guardian) on the BIG RED LETTERS trend in movie posters from the late 90's and early 2000's. It bugged me back then and it bugs me now. It's interesting to read about how - even though big red letters have been around forever - this particular trend was driven by as innocuous a statement as "If I’m driving down the street at 40mph and it’s raining, I want to see a bus shelter poster that has impact. I want to see it from eight blocks away” by a producer.
